(Ages 2+) Our monthly puppet shows are a great introduction for younger children to experience live theater. Kidsinger Jim presents a one-of-a-kind puppet show. The friendly, nearly life-size animal puppets and realistic barn set take the children on a visit to a very musical farm.. This 40-minute show is suitable for all ages, children under 2 are FREE. Artwork in this exhibit is related to the passing of time – sunsets, sundials, a race against time, clocks! In addition to the artwork, we will have 24 redesigned clocks as part of the challenge of this exhibit. Sponsored by the Friends of Franklin Park Arts Center, there will be cash prizes awarded. The gallery is open 9:00am – 5:00pm daily and 1 hour prior to public performances.

(Ages 8+) You are invited to immerse yourself in a traditional tea ceremony to celebrate the Japanese Festival of Tanabata. (七夕) Participants can wear one of our kimonos and decorate a floating lantern on arrival. Quietly observe the tea ceremony demonstration lead by Hiromi Johnson and then participate with a hands on preparation to share matcha tea with friends. Afterwards, you can walk (or drive) to the pond to launch your water lanterns. A serene and reflective cultural experience. L
