Stories & Seeds Speaker Series with a Light Lunch – FREE Marshall McClung recounts stories of bygone days You are invited to gather with others in the community every other Wednesday to hear local stories by local people. Make your own Appalachian-Style Hawk’s Tail Broom with Appalachian Broom Maker Cathy Henson. Brooms can be fashioned in various styles with twine woven to create intricate designs. In this class, you’ll make one of the simpler versions which is a regional favorite. Materials are provided, including specialty scissors for the group to share. You will be creating two mini mosaics in tins. They can be gifts or keepsakes; either way, they beautify home/office spaces. Instructor Gayle Haynie provides supplies, tools, safety equipment, and various embellishments for final touches. Be creative. You can incorporate jewelry pieces that you no longer wear.
