Meet behind Fort Mackinac (Huron Road), then stroll to the highest point of the island at Fort Holmes. We’ll arrive in time to watch the full moon rise over Lake Huron, illuminating the landscape below. Covering about one mile total, climbing 141 stairs is part of this adventure. Storytellers weave spooky folktales near bonfires and treats such as hot mulled cider, cookies and candy can be found throughout the site. Most stops are suitable for all ages, but a haunted house, demon walk and werewolf walk will give thrills and chills to adults and children alike.

This year marks the 30th running of one of the most scenic trail events in the state. We have a capacity of 3,000 participants running and walking the inside trails of Mackinac Island during the last open weekend of the season. All who register will enjoy special race features – commemorative medals, great swag, special Halloween events for adults and kids, great end-of-season sales – plus the beauty of late fall on the Island.
