Bring your picnic dinners, and the library will provide cookies, lemonade, live music, and kids crafts! At 6:30pm, witness the unearthing of a literal story: the 1976 Bicentennial time capsule! That’s right, in 1976, Chelsea residents buried a time capsule in the library lawn to be opened 50 years later. Local families were invited to put family records, souvenirs, voice recordings, and letters inside the time capsule, to be distributed to their future descendants upon the capsule’s opening.
