Meet the spirits of those lost at sea—a shipwreck, a waterspout, Confederates, yellow fever, and a menagerie at the bottom of the ocean are just a few of the plots visitors may encounter on Twilight Tours. This indoor evening event takes place throughout the historic Merithew House, where volunteer actors stationed upstairs and downstairs portray ghosts from the past. This workshop is led by Penobscot Marine Museum Education Director Jeana Ganskop. Learn how to type a flat Turk’s head knot out of lobstering string to create a sailors’ knot ornament. Staggered start times allow for individual instruction and support. In addition to a finished ornament, attendees will take home materials to complete more knotwork projects.
