Made the missing brace based on the one in my '52 LG2. cut a 28 foot convex spherical radius on the glue surface. It goes underneath the area shown. Made a couple clamping cauls with a 28 foot concave radius Drilled some holes in the clamps so I can borrow the swivel V-grooved pads from the brace jacks. Looks like the brace was positioned correctly and did glue the entire span. It did fix some of the dips on the top in that area. Only issue is I must had clamped too tight and put a couple marks on the brace. I'll shave them out later on. I had rubber on the top and it was fine. Two missing top braces replaced, two loose top braces reglued. Two more to go on top and a few on the bottom, but they're difficult to reach so I'm taking a break until a Stewmac tool arrives. In the meantime, I'm cleaning up the bridge and the outlines of the bridge and pick guard with the built-up shellac. Here's a before/after of the bridge. Filed the edges of the frets (I'll round out the edges after leveling), popped out the ferrules (I don't know what the two strange ones are), masked off the fret board for leveling and crowning. Took care of the treble side X-brace, then noticed the opposite side had the same issue, so I took care of it. I think the top braces are finished. I think the old glue is dried out and brittle and was separating as I was working on the others. Looking back, the back should had been removed, but I'm not ready to try that. Laid out the bracing pattern by shining a light inside the body. Traced a clamping pattern on the underside to avoid the braces. I still want to level out the pick guard area before I apply it. Have a new one from Holter on the way. Quote 2 bobouz All Access 4.2k posts 436 Reputation

I got the under the pickguard clamping caul made, it fits like a glove. I may make a top aluminum pickguard shape that I can shoot steam through and clamp it. I found a crack on one of the tone bars. I had to get a longer clamp to reach it. It got glued today. The depression under the pickguard at the waist area was around 3/32" when I started. After regluing the braces and doing a little steaming and clamping, the entire area is a little less than 1/32". I'm applying layers of sandable clear sealer to build up the area. This will take a few coats. I leveled the area before applying just in case it wants to run. The pickguard is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I'll see if I need to do anything about the dark outline. I also started working on the h
