Downtown Riverside Pedestrian Mall 10 am - 5 pm The Adrian Dell & Carmen Roberts Foundation has roots that reach back more than four decades. What began in 1980 as the Riverside Black History Parade Committee grew out of a simple desire: to bring families together, celebrate culture, and uplift the local community. The committee organized the very first Black History Month Parade that year - an event that has since become one of California’s longest-running celebrations of Black heritage.
Digital Library - 2nd Floor 10 am - 4 pm Dr. Khalid el-Hakim is the founder and curator of the Black History 101 Mobile Museum, a collection of over 7,000 original artifacts of Black memorabilia dating from the trans-Atlantic slave trade era to hip-hop culture. As the nation's premiere Black history traveling exhibit, the Black History 101 Mobile Museum has exhibited in 40 states and over 500 institutions.
