The main gallery will feature Juan Carlos Munoz-Hernandez who grew up in the streets, turned to graffitti in his youth, and is now an established artist. He currently works for the Robert Graham Studio in Venice, CA. Jaime Guerrero was trained professionally in the art of glass blowing. For the past three years, Jaime has been teaching glassblowing to at-risk youth in South Central Los Angeles. He will be sharing works from his Homies series. Avenue 50 Studio and Hollywood Institute of Poetics present the BLUEBIRD READING series April 13th at 2PMIt’s National Poetry Month, or something, but since we celebrate poetry EVERY MONTH…the special thing about this weekend’s Bluebird is that you can hang out at the Kaya Press/ Writ Large booth at the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books at USC and then kinda just take the Red Line to the Gold Line to the Highland Park station and BOOM, you’re at Avenue 50 Studio! No car necessary for a weekend
