The 'Souls at Sea Ceremony' is an annual event organized by the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) to honor the Middle Passage victims and African Americans lost at sea. It features a blessing of the captains and boats, as well as a drum, dance, and song performance from the African Legacy Cultural Arts Association.
