Mabel Normand was an American silent film actress, comedienne, director, and screenwriter. She began her career at Biograph in 1910 and later joined Vitagraph in 1911, producing popular comedies. She was one of the earliest silent film stars and worked on over 167 film shorts and 23 full-length features.
