Mavis Staples is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and activist. She is best known for her work with the Staples Singers, a gospel group that became one of the most influential voices in American music. Staples has released numerous solo albums and has collaborated with artists such as Prince, Bob Dylan, and Wilco. She has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Blues Hall of Fame.
