Juan Felipe Herrera is an American poet, performer, and author who served as the 21st U.S. Poet Laureate from 2015-2017, becoming the first Latino to hold this position. Born to migrant farm workers in California, he is the author of over 28 books spanning poetry, prose, and children's literature.
