Cat Stevens (born Steven Demetre Georgiou in 1948) is a British-Cypriot singer-songwriter known for his soft rock and folk music from the 1960s-1970s. He later became known as Yusuf Islam after his conversion to Islam in 1977 and has continued performing and recording under both names.
